Baked apples with plums
Preheat the oven to 375°f.
In a large buttered baking dish or saucepan, place:
6–8 red or black plums, pitted and sliced
4 apples, cored and sliced
4 tablespoons butter, cold, thinly sliced
½ cup maple syrup
Roast in the oven, stirring once or twice, until the fruit is tender but not completely mushy, about 30–35 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool to room temperature.
While the fruit is cooling, whip:
1 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Serve on hot brioche toast with:
Fresh maple whipped cream
Or simply layer the baked fruit and whipped cream in individual bowls or glasses.
