Pastoral Exhibition 2007
The exhibition, installed in the Breeding Barn at Shelburne Farms on July 27 and 28, 2007, featured the work of Irene Ames, Elizabeth Billings, Peter Brooke, Daniel Embree, Edward Koren, Andrea Modica, and Glenn Suokko.
Tours of Shelburne Farms were led by farm guides.
A tour of Shelburne Museum’s Brick House, the Vermont home of Electra Havemeyer Webb, folk-art collector and founder of Shelburne Museum, was led by a historian.
A concert performed by a string trio of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and a reception were held to honor Pastoral subscribers and friends of Shelburne Farms.
A dinner featuring ingredients from Shelburne Farms was served at The Inn at Shelburne Farms.
Alec Webb, president of Shelburne Farms, lead a tour of the Breeding Barn and Old Dairy Barn and discussed the future plans for these impressive buildings.
Shelburne Farms
Shelburne Farms was created in 1886 by Dr. William Seward and Lila Vanderbilt Webb as a model agricultural estate. A National Historic Landmark today, Shelburne Farms is a place of extraordinary natural and architectural beauty. The 1,400-acre farm is a membership-supported nonprofit education center and resource for environmental stewardship locally and around the world.
